Tree seedling sale planned by Armstrong conservation group
Armstrong Conservation District will conduct its annual fruit tree and seedling sale through March 1.
Fruit trees available include varieties of apple, apricot, cherry, peach, pear and plum. Trees range from 4 to 6 feet in height, are bare rooted and packed in peat moss. Cost is $25. Tree guards are available at $3 each. Varieties are limited and will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Orders are encouraged to be placed early.
Tree seedling varieties available include American Common Persimmon, Arrowwood Viburnum, Buttonbush, Colorado Blue Spruce, Eastern Redbud, Eastern White Pine, Paw Paw, Red Spruce, Scarlet Oak, Shadblow Serviceberry, Silky Dogwood and Winterberry Holly. Cost is $25 for a bundle of 25 and includes tax. Proceeds benefit county environmental projects and activities.
