Notes for Hope festival set Saturday in Hyde Park
The Notes for Hope Music and Food Festival will be from noon to 9 p.m. Saturday at Hyde Park Heritage Pavilion, 217 Railroad St., Hyde Park.
Bands scheduled to appear include Marshall and the Deputies, Miss Freddye Stover and Her Blues Band, Steel Mill Rising, Colorblind Willie Blues Band, 13 Stories, Bill Toms and Hard Rain and Thieves.
Admission is $10. No alcohol or coolers permitted. This is a pre-event fundraiser to benefit the Breast Cancer Research Foundation via Leechburg’s Pink Day.
Pink Day will be Sept. 18 in downtown Leechburg.
‘Addams Family’ musical to be presented at Casino Theatre
Armstrong Community Theater will present the musical, “The Addams Family,” at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 2 p.m. July 18 at the Casino Theatre, Vandergrift.
Tickets are $15 and are available at Pomfret’s Paint and Variety, 149 Farragut Ave., Vandergrift; Quality Inn Royle in West Kittanning and the Worthington Library, at the door.
Pennsylvania long rifle discussion planned today in Plum
The Allegheny Foothills Historical Society will host a presentation on Pennsylvania long rifles from 1 to 4 p.m. today at the Carpenter Log House, Pierson Run Road, Plum.
Members of the society will display samples of the rifles and discuss this weapon that helped to tame the wilderness here in western Pennsylvania.
Donations will be accepted to benefit Carpenter Log House.
