Cycling team to host fundraiser for MS

The Killer Bees Cycling Team will sponsor a fundraiser from noon to 6 p.m. Sunday at Inner Groove Brewing, 751 E. Railroad Ave, Verona, to benefit the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.

Local bands will perform and there will be a food truck, basket raffle, a flash tattoo artist and more.

Admission is free and proceeds from the raffles, donations and a portion of beer sales will be donated.

Indie band concert set Sunday

The free 2025 Allegheny County Summer Concert series will feature alternative rock and indie band Mo Lowda and the Humble at 7:30 p.m. Sunday at Hartwood Acres Park Amphitheater, 4070 Middle Road, Hampton.

Bring a chair. Popup tents and umbrellas are permitted but must be taken down before the performance begins. Dogs are permitted but must be on a leash at all times and be up to date on all vaccinations and licensing.

East Vandergrift

Freeport 

Through Saturday: Freeport Area Library, 428 Market St., will sponsor a used book sale from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. today and Wednesday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, noon to 5 p.m. Thursday and Friday and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the library. Saturday: The Diaper Pantry at Christ Our Hope Anglican Church will distribute diapers from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the church, 926 Painter Ave., and at Sheldon Park, both in Natrona Heights. Recipients must drive up and remain in their vehicles. First-time recipients must provide their own identification, the child’s birth certificate and a current WIC or SNAP card.

Kiski Township

Sunday: A spaghetti dinner to benefit the Apollo-Ridge Cheerleaders will be from noon to 4 p.m. or until sold out at Kiski Township Firehall, 1037 Route 56. Menu: pasta with choice of two sauces, bread, butter, salad, dessert and lemonade or tea. Other beverages will be sold separately. There will be a silent auction and 50-50. Cost: $12; younger than 12, $10.

Leechburg  

Saturday : The Shawn Deslauriers Memorial Bocce Tournament will begin at noon at the 135 Marconi Club, River Avenue. A lunch fundraiser will be served from 1 to 4 p.m. Lunch tickets: $30, includes food and beer. There will be door prizes, baskets and a 50-50. Lunch ticket deadline: Thursday. Saturday: The ClothesLine Ministry at Bethesda Lutheran Church, 3084 Leechburg Road, will be open from 9 a.m. to noon. Cost: clothing and purses, 25 cents each or five for $1; special occasion clothing, leather coats, designer shoes and purses, $5 to $10. Several bridal gowns are available. Saturday: The city farmer’s Market will be open from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the Bon Air School parking lot, 3260 Leechburg Road.

Through July 20: The works of Allegheny Valley League of Artists members Eileen Kopelman and Patti Giordano will be on exhibit during operating hours at Peoples Library, 3052 Wachter Ave.

Aug. 3: The Dog Gone? Search, Trap and Rescue group is seeking food and craft vendors for the Rallying for Rescues event planned from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in Kotecki Park. Proceeds will benefit local animal rescues. Details: call or text 724-309-8284.

New Kensington

Doors open at 11:30 a.m. Lunch will be served at noon and bingo starts at 1 p.m. Menu: hot dogs, baked beans and Jello salad. There will be a progressive jackpot bingo, magic number game, a quickie and drawing for $5 off next month’s bingo admission. Cost: $20, includes lunch, eight regular games and eight specials.

Saturday: Animal Protectors of Allegheny Valley will have a yard sale from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the shelter, 730 Church St., New Kensington, rain or shine.

Sunday: Aluminum City Terrace Bingo Committee will host bingo from 2 to 4:30 p.m. in the activity center. Doors open at 1:30 p.m. Cost: $5, includes one board, snacks and drinks; extra boards, $1. There will be a 50-50 raffle. Public welcome.
