Guardian Angels Parish to celebrate at summer festival
The annual Guardian Angels Parish Summer Festival will be from 6 to 10 p.m. Wednesday through Friday and 5 to 10 p.m. Saturday at Blessed Sacrament Church, 800 Montana Ave., Natrona Heights, Harrison.
There will be rides, games, food, baked goods, bingo and cash and basket raffles. Entertainment will be featured at 7 p.m. nightly, including: Wednesday, Risen to Save; Thursday, The Sweet Judys; Friday, American Pie; and Saturday, the Dick Tady Orchestra. The Plaid Scientists will perform from 5 to 6:30 Friday. DJ Clem will play oldies before each band’s performance.
Free movie offered at Hartwood Acres
The free Allegheny County Movies in the Parks series will feature the movie, “Raiders of the Lost Ark” at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at Hartwood Acres Amphitheater, Indiana Township.
The movie is rated PG. Gates open at 7 p.m. and the movie starts at dusk. Bring a blanket or a lawn chair.
Festival planned at Holy Family Parish in Plum
Holy Family Parish will host its Almost Back to Normal Festival Wednesday through Saturday at St. John Church, 444 St. John St., Plum.
There will be games, rides, bingo and a raffle. Food will be sold from 5 to 9 p.m. and nightly dinner specials will be available. Advance orders welcome from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. by calling 412-828-9846.
Rides and games will be open from 6 to 10 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday and 6 to 10:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Entertainment will be include: Wednesday, Acoustic Diversion; Thursday, Kids of His Kingdom; Friday, Poor Souls; and Saturday, The Kosmix.
Free herb and spice webinar available from Penn State Extension
Penn State Extension will offer a free live webinar, “Let’s Cook at Home: Herbs and Spices,” from 6 to 7:15 p.m. July 21 online at Zoom.us.
