Summer festival to begin Wednesday at Guardian Angels Parish

The Guardian Angels Parish Summer Festival will be Wednesday through Saturday at the parish grounds, 800 Montana Ave., Natrona Heights, Harrison.

Hours are 6 to 10 p.m. Wednesday, Thursday and Friday and 5 to 10 p.m. Saturday. There will be rides, games, food, bake sale, bingo and a basket raffle. Entertainment will be featured at 7 p.m. nightly, including: Wednesday, Risen to Save; Thursday, Sweet Judys Tribute to Crosby, Stills and Nash; Friday, American Pie; and Saturday, the Dick Tady Orchestra.

Salvation Army free lunch distribution offered Thursday

The Allegheny Valley Salvation Army and Community Center in Brackenridge offers free grab and go lunches from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursdays in parking lot at the center, 917 Brackenridge Ave.

Free grocery items from Walmart and Aldi will be available. Everyone is welcome.

Borstal Boys to play at Pittsburgh Shrine Center

The free Thursday Music Series at 7 p.m. Thursday in the Pittsburgh Shrine Center pavilion in Harmar will feature the Borstal Boys.

Gates open at 6 p.m. Rain or shine. Free parking and food and drinks will be available. No tailgating, outside food or beverages is permitted. The weekly event is sponsored by Band Together Pittsburgh, Moondog’s and the Pittsburgh Shrine Center.
