Youth field day planned in Kiski Township

Armstrong County Sportsmen and Conservation League will host a free youth field day from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. July 22 at Kiski Township Sportsmen and Conservation League, 192 Wilson Road.

Children age 8 through 15 can learn archery, fishing, trapping, proper use of firearms and more. Lunch will be served.

West Deer outreach offers food, clothing

North Hills Community Outreach will host a free distribution of produce, packaged food and meats from noon to 1 p.m. Friday at the Free Store, 756 Little Deer Creek Road, West Deer.

The outreach also provides help with clothing, personal care items, utility and rental assistance, senior transportation and more. No ID or proof of income is required.

Today: Al-Anon will meet at 8 p.m. at Trinity United Methodist Church, 847 10th Ave. The group offers help and hope for families and friends of alcoholics.

Today: A story time with lunch and a craft will be from 11 a.m. to noon in Brackenridge Park, First Avenue. Sponsored by Trinity United Methodist Church.

Thursday: Bingo will begin at 7:15 p.m. at the American Legion, 845 First Ave.

East Vandergrift

Friday: East Vandergrift Community Foundation, a non-profit formed to support community and educational initiatives, will sponsor a Food Truck Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. on Chambers Street in the borough. There will be food vendors, beer, music, a raffle and an opportunity to socialize.

Freeport

Today: The Thrift Store Clothing Ministry at Freeport United Methodist Church, 211 Fourth St., will be open from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. All items are free, but donations will be accepted. Items available include clothing of all sizes, bedding and window items. Donations of clothing, shoes and boots welcome; must be laundered and free from smoke and pet hair. Wheelchair accessible. Gilpin

Thursday: Gilpin Volunteer Fire Department will host bingo at 7:15 p.m. at the firehall, 113 Firehall Road.

Harmar 

Thursday: The free Pittsburgh Brewing Co. Thunder Summer Music Series will feature Norman Nardini at 7 p.m. at the pavilion at the Syria Shrine Center, 1877 Shriners Way. Rain or shine. Gates open at 6 p.m. There is free parking and food and beverages will be sold. No tailgating or outside food or drinks permitted.

Harrison 

Today: The Becky’s Closet community clothing store at Faith Lutheran Church, 1500 Broadview Blvd., will have a Christmas in July sale from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the church. Clothing and Christmas decorations will be available at very low cost. Donations welcome during this time.

Today: The Anime Club at Community Library of Allegheny Valley, 1522 Broadview Blvd., will meet from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the library. Focused for adults, but teens who are at least in ninth grade welcome. Students younger than 18 must provide a permission slip. Permission slips are available at the library. Today: Allegheny Valley Association of Churches Food Bank will be open from 1:30 to 5 p.m. at 1913 Freeport Road, Natrona Heights. Food bank participants can receive food allotments twice per month. Today: The Agape Thrift Shop at Grace United Methodist Church, 1333 Freeport Road, will be open from 1 to 4 p.m. Clean summer clothing in all sizes is needed. No housewares or bedding please due to lack of space. Bring donations on Wednesday or leave them on the front porch. Do not place donations in the blue bins behind the church.

Thursday: Burtner House Restoration Society will meet at 6:30 p.m. at the Harrison Township municipal building, 1 Municipal Drive. New members welcome.

Thursday: The free summer children’s playground program sponsored by Natrona Comes Together Association will present a puppet show at 12:30 p.m. at the park pavilion, 10 River Ave.

Thursday: Friends of Allegheny Valley Community Library will meet at 10 a.m. in the library community room, 1522 Broadview Blvd. New members are welcome and there is no membership fee.

Friday: Natrona Heights Veterans of Foreign Wars will have bingo at 7 p.m. at the post, 894 Veterans Lane. Doors open at 6 p.m., and there will be specials, a 50/50 raffle and final game jackpot.

Jefferson

New recipients can register on Thursday.

Tarentum
