Safety day to be held at Crooked Creek Lake
The Armstrong County Community Safety Day will be from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. July 15 at Crooked Creek Lake, 329 Crooked Creek Dam Road, Bethel Township.
There will be free food, a chalk walk, wildlife programs, helmet giveaway, a bike raffle, a demonstration of the jaws of life and an appearance by Bobber the Water Safety Dog.
Highlands School District continues summer food program
Highlands School District in Harrison will distribute free lunches to children 18 and younger from 11 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays July 17 to 27 in the middle school cafeteria.

Jazz history program to be presented in Vandergrift
Victorian Vandergrift Museum and Historical Society will sponsor a free Heinz History Center program “The History of Jazz in Western Pennsylvania” at 1 p.m. July 22 at Goldstrom Hall, 184 Sherman Ave., Vandergrift.

Today: The free summer children’s playground program sponsored by Natrona Comes Together Association will present a puppet show at 12:30 p.m. at the park pavilion, 10 River Ave.
