Free concert planned at Concordia Lutheran Ministries

Concordia Haven II at Concordia Lutheran Ministries will host a free outdoor concert featuring the Penn Trafford Community Band at 4 p.m. Sunday on the Haven II patio, entrance 5, 148 Marwood Road, Jefferson Township.

Registration is encouraged. To register, call Peggy at 724-352-5378 or email PTrettel@concordialm.org. In case of inclement weather, the concert will be canceled.


Avonmore VFD accepting orders for military banners

Avonmore Volunteer Fire Department is sponsoring a Hometown Hero Banner program that recognizes veterans and current service men and women from the Avonmore area.

Banners are 30 x 60-inches and will be displayed in the borough from Memorial Day through Veterans Day each year and stored through the winter.

Cost for a banner and hardware is $125. For details, stop in the borough office, 619 Allegheny Ave., or the public library. Order deadline is July 31.


Free concert planned at Hartwood Acres

The Allegheny County Summer Concert Series at Hartwood Acres Park Amphitheater, Indiana Township, will feature a free performance of folk music by the band The Lone Bellow at 7:30 p.m. Sunday.

Food trucks will open at 6 p.m. Rain or shine.
