Golf outing to benefit LB fire companies
Lower Burrell Volunteer Fire Companies No. 1 and 3 will sponsor a golf outing Sept. 14 at Birdsfoot Golf Course, 225 Furnace Run Road, South Buffalo.
The event will be a 4-man scramble and a shotgun start will be at 8 a.m. Cost is $100 per golfer and includes cart, lunch at the turn, soft drinks, water, beer and dinner. There will be skill prizes and a 50-50 raffle.

Monthly Breaking Bread dinner planned at Knead Community Cafe
Knead Community Cafe, 1011 Barnes St., New Kensington, will host its free monthly dine-in Breaking Bread dinner at 5:30 p.m. Thursday at the cafe.
The meal will be sponsored in honor of Zachary Brumbaugh and Any Seed Organic Farm. No takeout meals will be available.

Free concert planned Thursday in West Deer
Highpointe at Rebecca will host a free outdoor concert featuring vocalist John Patrick Heiserman at 2 p.m. Thursday in the outdoor courtyard of the facility, 1871 Highpointe Lane, West Deer.
