Concert to raise funds for local police departments and scholarships
The fifth annual Officer Brian Shaw Foundation Concert will be from 2 p.m. to 2 a.m. Saturday at Mogie’s Restaurant and Irish Pub, 3210 Leechburg Road, Lower Burrell.
Doors open at noon. The music schedule will feature Kirk Thoma, Tim Schmider, the Rust Project, The Knockoffs Acoustics with Maria Emili, Donna O, Heidi and the Hellcats, Elliana Koulouris, Doug Carnahan, DD and the Lost Decade and Norm Nardini. There will be a silent auction, T-shirt sales and a 50/50 raffle. Cover charge is $10.
Proceeds will be donated to local communities and police departments and fund four scholarships for Burrell and Valley high school seniors.
‘Godspell’ to be presented at Vandergrift’s Casino Theatre
Armstrong Community Theater will perform the musical “Godspell” at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday at the Casino Theatre, Vandergrift.
Tickets are $17 and are available at Pomfret’s Paint and Variety in Vandergrift, online at armstrongcommunitytheater.org and at the door.
Firemen’s Festival scheduled Saturday in West Leechburg
The West Leechburg Firemen’s Festival will be from 2 to 7 p.m. Saturday at the firemen’s recreation hall, 1116 Gosser Ave.
There will be crafters, vendors, raffles, fire truck rides, food trucks, a silent auction, small animal farm, all-day 50/50 raffle, children’s activities and a car cruise.
Proceeds will benefit the fire department.
Yacht Club Regatta sets sail Saturday in Oakmont
The 115th annual Oakmont Yacht Club Regatta will be from noon to 11 p.m. Saturday at the club, 11 Washington Ave., Oakmont.
A flag-raising ceremony will officially open the event at noon and there will be a DJ followed by three bands, food, beverages, a silent auction, face painting, games and a craft tent.
The public is welcome.

Second St. A party with pizza and cupcakes will be at 8 p.m. and the movie will begin at dusk. The featured film will be “Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire,” rated PG-13. Free drinks and popcorn will be served. Bring a blanket or low chair.
