Historic farm tour planned in of Allegheny Township

The Allegheny Township Historical Society will sponsor a bus tour of some of the township historical farms on Aug. 3.

The bus will board at 11:30 a.m. at the 1824 Walker Farmhouse, 2292 White Cloud Road, and leave at 11:45 a.m. Farms included are Tunnel Hill Farm, the HEAL Farm, Berry Hill Farm and the 1824 Walker Farmhouse, where an outdoor chicken dinner will be served at 6 p.m., weather permitting.

Non-refundable tickets are $45 and include dinner. Reservations are required by July 27. For tickets, send a check payable to the historical society to ATHS Treasurer, 650 Indian Hill Road, Leechburg PA 15656 or call Audrey at 724-304-1271 or Sara at 724-882-5659.


Volunteers welcome at Animal Protectors of Allegheny Valley

Animal Protectors of Allegheny Valley is looking for volunteers to help out at the shelter in New Kensington.

There are opportunities available every day to suit every person including dog and cat care, event and fundraising work, cleaning, maintenance, doggy day outs, fostering, office work and administration.
