Knead Community Café accepting donations
Knead Community Café, New Kensington, is accepting donations to help the daily operation of the café, 1011 Barnes St.
Items on the café’s wish list include: antibacterial hand sanitizer and refills, Clorox wipes, disposable latex or nitrile gloves size large or one-size-fits-all, paper towels, white premium napkins, 8x8-inch or 9x9-inch single compartment Styrofoam hinged takeout containers, premium plastic forks and knives and Sam’s Club gift cards.
Donations will be accepted during business hours 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesdays through Fridays and 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays.
Campmeeting Association plans service in Harrison
The Pittsburgh-Tarentum Campmeeting Association, 1451 Main St., Natrona Heights, Harrison, will have a service at 7 p.m. Sunday at the campground. The Rev. Rob Wilson, pastor of Zion United Methodist Church, Buffalo Township, will be the speaker.
The public is welcome.
Trail improvement work set at Harrison Hills Park
Friends of Harrison Hills Park are seeking volunteers to help with a trail improvement program from 9 a.m. to noon Aug. 1 at the park in Natrona Heights, Harrison.
Expect to participate in physical work, such as general trail maintenance, rerouting unsustainable trails, installation of trail structures and new trail construction.
Long pants and closed-toe shoes are required. Tools, gloves and eye protection will be provided. Pizza will be served at the end of the workday.

July 31: Valley Points Family YMCA is sponsoring a Christmas in July raffle for complete one roll each of $20, $10 and $5 scratch-off tickets. Cost: $10 per chance. The winning number will be taken from the July 31 evening Pa. Pick-3 Lottery. Proceeds will benefit the YMCA Financial Assistance Program. Only 1,000 tickets will be sold. Saturday: The Kona Ice truck will be parked from noon to 2 p.m. in the parking lot of Calandrella’s Restaurant, 4402 Route 981. A portion of proceeds will benefit the Bell Township Volunteer Fire Department.

Free parking will be available across the street at Bon Air Elementary School. There will be a silent auction, small games of chance, public safety demonstrations and a touch-a-truck display.
