Free Covid-19 vaccines available Thursday in Natrona park

A mobile covid-19 vaccination site will be held from 4 to 6:30 p.m. Thursday in Natrona Community Park, 12-20 River Road, Harrison.

Free Johnson & Johnson/Janssen vaccine will be available for those who are at least 18 years old and Pfizer vaccine will be available for anyone who is at least 12 years old. Appointments are available, but walk-ins are welcome. For an appointment, visit vax4.alleghenycounty.us/patient/s/ and select the Natrona Community Park location.

Free HepC and HIV testing, condoms and Narcan will be available. The event is sponsored by the Allegheny County Health Department and Allegheny County Covid Field Response.


Veterans appreciation drive-thru luncheons planned Aug. 6

Rep. Bob Brooks will host drive-thru Veterans Appreciation Luncheons for veterans of the 54th District of the Pa. House of Representatives from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Aug. 6 at Mogie’s Restaurant and Irish Pub, 3210 Leechburg Road, Lower Burrell; Pittsburgh Barbeque, 6625 William Penn Highway, Delmont; and Deer Creek Diner, 13 Creighton Russellton Road, West Deer.

Veterans and a guest will receive a boxed lunch. The 54th District includes West Deer, Fawn, Harrison, Allegheny Township, Lower Burrell, Upper Burrell, Murrysville, Export and Penn Township.

Reservations are required by Aug. 2. To register, call 724-387-1281 or 724-335-2790 and specify at which location you will pick up your meal.

Monday: First Evangelical Lutheran Church, Leechburg, will host a 13-week GriefShare support group from 6 to 8 p.m. Mondays through Sept. 6 in the church sanctuary, 358 Main St. The group is for anyone who has lost an important person in their life and needs help dealing with the grief. Masks required to enter the building and social distancing will be observed. Participants can join the group at any session of the class.
