Festa Italiana planned at Mount St. Peter Church
The annual Mount St. Peter Church Festa Italiana has been changed due to the covid-19 pandemic.
Takeout Festa platters will be sold from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday in a drive-through in the rear parking lot of the church, 100 Freeport Road, New Kensington.
Platters will cost $15 and include a serving of lasagna, two meatballs and a sausage. Food will be cooked but served cold to take home to heat and serve. No advance orders are necessary.
A virtual basket raffle is being conducted. Browse the baskets at mtstpeter.ourraffle.org.
A Grand Raffle with prizes of $2,500, $500 and two of $250 will be drawn after the 5 p.m. Saturday Mass. Cost is $1 per chance. For tickets, stop in at the church office.
Free diapers and food available at Highlands Family Center
Highlands Family Center, Tarentum, will distribute free diapers, produce and dairy products from 2 to 6 p.m. Thursday and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday at the center, 415 E. Fourth Ave.
Registration is required. To register, call the center at 724-224-9006. Call as soon as possible, because spots are reserved very quickly.
Salvation Army offers free lunches
The Allegheny Valley Salvation Army and Community Center in Brackenridge offers free grab and go lunches from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursdays in parking lot at the center, 917 Brackenridge Ave.
Children’s summer feeding program continues in Tarentum
The Summer Feeding Program at Central Presbyterian Church, 305 Allegheny St., Tarentum, provides free grab-and-go breakfasts and lunches to children from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. weekdays.

Free milk product distribution rescheduled for today
Free dairy products will be distributed at noon today in Heights Plaza, Natrona Heights, Harrison.
The event had been planned for Saturday. Recipients should drive up, remain in their vehicle and boxes will be loaded into their trunk. No registration is required. Service will be first come, first served, one box per family.
The event is sponsored by Harvest Community Church, Harrison, in conjunction with Marburger Dairy, the USDA Food and Drug Administration, local dairy producers and Southern Baptist Disaster Relief. For details, visit harvestpa.org or call the church at 724-548-5643.

Some prizes are not available due to covid-19 restrictions. If your ticket number is called for the one of the prizes that is not available, you will receive cash in the amount of the department’s cost of the gun. All hourly prizes will remain the same. The 7 p.m. grand prize will be $2,000 and will also be drawn on Facebook. All winners will be contacted by telephone, and winning numbers posted on Facebook and on the firehall door. No refunds will be issued.
