Salvation Army food bank distribution planned at new location
The New Kensington Salvation Army food bank distribution for Wednesday will be from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the new location, 255 Third St.
Drive-through distribution is preferred, and the line will begin in the bus loop. Cars will be sent down through the alley into the rear parking lot to receive food.
Phone service may be interrupted while the center completes its move to the new location. For questions, send a private message on the Salvation Army Facebook page.
Donations welcome for the Friendship Garden Food Pantry
Donations for the food pantry in the Tarentum Friendship Garden can be dropped off at the pantry on First Avenue or at the side doors to First United Presbyterian Church, 913 Lock St., Tarentum.
Items needed include cereal, bread, canned vegetables, soup, macaroni and cheese, rice, spaghetti and pasta sauce.
Audubon Society offers nature camp at Beechwood Farms
The Audubon Society of Western Pennsylvania will host a nature camp, “Monarchs and Milkweed,” at 10 a.m. July 11 at Beechwood Farms Nature Reserve, 614 Dorseyville Road, Fox Chapel.
The program will be broadcast live online for those who prefer to participate remotely. Onsite campers must wear a mask, indoors and outdoors.
Participants will learn about the Monarch butterfly’s conservation challenges and how they can help in their own backyard.
Registration is required. Cost to attend is waived due to the support of the Pittsburgh Foundation.

Celebration to honor 2020 Springdale High School graduates
A Senior Celebration event for the Springdale High School Class of 2020 will be July 16 at the Springdale Veterans Association.
The event was planned to allow students to wear their formal wear that was already purchased before the covid-19 pandemic.
Donations are being accepted to help with expenses. Contributions can be sent to Cheryl Dutch, 200 Cambrel Point Road, Natrona Heights PA 15065.
