Touch-a-truck event planned Saturday in Fawn

Autism support group Powered By Love will host a touch-a-truck festival from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday at Tour Ed Mine, 748 Bullcreek Road, Fawn.

There will be heavy equipment vehicles, fire trucks, police cars, an AHN ambulance truck, a car cruise, food trucks, petting zoo, balloon artist, sensory garden, vendors, music and a 50/50 raffle. Tours of the mine will be available.

Registration picnic set by Guyasuta Area Youth Football group

Guyasuta Area Youth Football and Cheerleading will host a free meet-and-greet registration picnic from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday at Kennedy Field, Clifton Avenue, Sharpsburg.

Football players from Allegheny Valley and Fox Chapel Area school districts, Oakmont and Verona are eligible. Children from any school district can be registered to be cheerleaders.

There will be music, games, food and a bounce house.


Frazer Sam’s Club to host safety fair

A safety fair will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at Sam’s Club, 2000 Village Center Drive. Frazer.

There will be a touch-a-truck with police, fire and emergency service vehicles, a car cruise, games and food. Proceeds will benefit UPMC Children’s Hospital, Pittsburgh.



LB Meals On Wheels cancels deliveries due to renovations

Lower Burrell Meals On Wheels will not deliver Thursday, Monday, Wednesday and June 9 due to renovations being done at their hall.

Deliveries will resume June 12.

Friday: Alle-Kiski Day Quilters and Sewers will meet from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Allegheny Township municipal building, 136 Community Building Road. Bring your project. No dues or fees. Saturday: A free movie night will be at dusk in Owens Grove. There will be free popcorn and drinks and the featured film will be, “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone,” rated PG. Sponsored by Apollo Memorial Library and the Apollo Events Committee.

Saturday: St. James Parish will celebrate Mass at 4:30 p.m. on the lawn to the left of the church, 109 Owens View Ave. Bring a folding chair or blanket. There is no shade in this area, so wear sunscreen or bring an umbrella. Ice cream sandwiches will be served afterward. In case of inclement weather, Mass will be celebrated inside the church.

Arnold

Saturday: Homemade doughnuts will be sold from 6 to 10 a.m. at Calvary Lutheran Church, 1721 Victoria Ave. Cost: $8 per dozen. Orders: 724-335-0101.

Saturday: Arnold United Methodist Church, 1801 Leishman Ave., will host an all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast from 8 a.m. to noon at the church. Brackenridge 

Today: The Allegheny Valley Salvation Army and Community Center offers free grab-and-go lunches from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in parking lot at the center, 917 Brackenridge Ave. Free grocery items from Walmart and Aldi will be available. Everyone is welcome.

Today: Bingo will begin at 7:15 p.m. at the American Legion, 845 First Ave.

Butler County

Today: The National Alliance on Mental Illness of Butler County will offer a free online support group at 7 p.m. at Zoom.us for families and friends of those living with a mental illness. Reservations required. Reservations: 724-431-0069 or info@namibutler.org.

East Vandergrift
