Afternoon of fun planned by local autism support group

Autism support group Powered By Love will host a touch-a-truck event from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday at Tour Ed Mine, Ridge Road, Fawn.

Children’s activities will include a bounce house, foam party, games, a petting zoo and trucks and pieces of heavy equipment to explore. There will be food trucks, a DJ, vendors and resources from education organizations. For more information, call Heather at 724-212-9301 or Kim at 724-272-3787.

June 13: Our Lady, Queen of Peace Parish is selling tickets for a spring cash lottery raffle. June 8: Freeport Area Library Association will host an English tea from 1 to 3 p.m. at the library, 528 Market St. The menu will include finger sandwiches, a variety of teas, scones with clotted cream and jam and pastries. June 13: A car show will be from 5 to 8 p.m. at Christ the King Parish, 125 Park Lane, as part of the Leechburg 175th anniversary celebration. Check-in will begin at 3 p.m. There will be food, music and a 50-50. Legacy awards will be awarded based on historic Leechburg car dealerships. Cost: $10 in advance; $15, at the gate. Today: The Allegheny chapter of the National Association of Watch and Clock Collectors will meet from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Alle-Kiski Valley Historical Society, 224 E. Seventh Ave. The first eight attendees will have an opportunity to build and take home a free quartz clock. Bring an old clock or watch and members will be available to questions. Public welcome.
