Golf outing to benefit Five Forces veterans charity
A golf outing to benefit Five Forces veterans charity will be at 8 a.m. June 24 at the Links at Spring Church, 3257 Balsiger Road, Kiski Township.
Cost is $90 and includes pastries before golf, snack at the turn, dinner and a cart. There will be skill prizes, merchandise and a 50/50.
Money raised will benefit local veterans and current service members. Sponsorship opportunities are available. For details and to register, email fiveforces14@yahoo.com.
Free lunch program planned in Natrona
The Building Block of Natrona and the United Methodist Church Union will sponsor a free summer lunch program for children 18 and younger from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. weekdays through July 26 at Natrona Community Park, 12 River Ave., Harrison.
Children do not have to be a resident of Natrona or Allegheny County to participate.
Annual carnival comes to Lower Burrell
The Lower Burrell Firemen’s Carnival will be from 6 to 10 p.m. Monday through June 17 in the U-Haul Moving and Storage Lot on Leechburg Road.
There will be no parking available in the new Shadler/Yesco Company lot due to paving. Carnival-goers should park in the Wildlife Lanes lot on Wildlife Lodge Road and crossing guards will assist with traffic and crossing Leechburg Road.

Thursday : Vandergrift Public Library and Tiny Trax Farm will host a free goat story time at 6 p.m. at the farm, 151 Stitt Ave. Wear old clothes and shoes. June 24: Alle-Kiski Pickleball will sponsor doubles pickleball tournament to raise funds for new courts at 9 a.m. at the basketball area in Freeport Community Park. Rain date: July 1. Cost: $100 per team. Pool play will be random and division play will be based on the results of pool play. All teams will play at least seven games if all slots are filled. Today: The Diaper Pantry at Christ Our Hope Anglican Church, Harrison, will distribute diapers from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the church, 926 Painter Ave., and at Sheldon Park, both in Natrona Heights. Recipients must drive up and remain in their vehicles. First-time recipients must provide their own identification, the child’s birth certificate and a current WIC or SNAP card.
