Benefit concert to aid Tarentum Police Department

Kaley’s Kops, 423 Productions and No Offseason Entertainment will host a benefit concert featuring Brian Kelley, formerly of the group Florida Georgia Line, at 6:30 p.m. Aug. 4 at No Offseason Sports Complex, 904 Little Deer Creek Valley Road, West Deer.

Gates open at 5 p.m. Proceeds will be donated to the Tarentum Police Department to purchase, train and establish a K9 unit. Additional proceeds will be used for bulletproof vests and other needs of the department, all in honor of fallen officers.

Monthly concerts scheduled in Burrell Lake Park

The Lower Burrell Parks and Recreation Department will sponsor free music from 7 to 9 p.m. the second Friday of each month through Sept. 13 in Burrell Lake Park.

Friday’s concert will feature Let’s Duet. Refreshments and ice cream will be sold.

Youth STEM camps offered in July by New Ken Science Project

The New Kensington Science Project, sponsored by R & D Impact Foundation, will offer two STEM camps for children at its new location at the New Kensington Salvation Army, 255 Third St.

A Maker Space week will be July 8 to 12 and will include work with 3D printers, laser cutters and design software. A 3D Video Maker Camp will be July 15 to 19. Camps are from 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day and include lunch.

July 11: A rubber ducky race fundraiser to benefit the borough’s 175^th anniversary celebration next year will be at 5 p.m. on the Kiski River. Ducks will be dropped into the river from the walking bridge to Hyde Park and will be fished out at the finish line at the firemen’s boat launch. Prizes will be awarded. Cost: $5 per duck. Lower Burrell
