Volunteers needed at Animal Protectors’ yard sale

Animal Protectors of Allegheny Valley will have a yard sale from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the shelter, 730 Church St., New Kensington.

Volunteers are needed to report from 6 to 7 a.m. to help set up and at 12:30 p.m. to help pack up the merchandise. Ask for Amber when you arrive. Contributions to the bake sale are also welcome.


Free advice available for those with financial troubles

The Brighter Future Supportive Services program at Allegheny Valley Association of Churches offers help for anyone need help to improve their self-sufficiency through increased education and/or employment opportunities. Community choir plans concert Saturday

The Harmony of Hope interfaith community choir will present a free concert in celebration of America’s culture and heritage at 2 p.m. Saturday at Grace United Methodist Church, 1333 Freeport Road, Natrona Heights, Harrison.

There will be special performances by Janette Zosche and Dmitri Koval and a group hymn sing to end the program. Donations will be accepted for local organizations that work to combat poverty.
