Raffle to benefit Veterans Groceries in Need program

The Westmoreland County Marines Detachment No. 1416 is conducting a raffle for a $1,000 gift card to Community Market.

The second-place winner will receive a Blackstone grill and griddle combo, a Yeti cooler on wheels and a stovetop grill on wheels. Tickets are $10 each and include two numbers. The winning number will be the 7 p.m. July 4 Pick 3 number of the Pennsylvania Lottery.

Local food bank seeking donations

The Allegheny Valley Association of Churches Food Bank is accepting donations of non-perishable food and household items.

Products most needed include toilet paper, paper towels, feminine products, diapers in sizes 4, 5, 6 and 7; canned vegetables, fruit, beef stew, ravioli, tuna, chicken and soups; boxed side dishes, spaghetti sauce, peanut butter, boxed cereal and sugar-free and gluten-free items.

Donations are accepted from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays at the ministry center, 1913 Freeport Road, Harrison. For information, call 724-226-0606.

Today: St. Vladimir Ukrainian Catholic Church, 1610 Kenneth Ave., will have a Ukrainian food sale from 9 to 10:30 a.m. at the church hall while supplies last. Menu: St. Vlad’s frozen potato pierogi, $14 per dozen; St. John’s frozen jalapeno pierogi, $10 per dozen; St. John’s frozen sweet cottage cheese pierogi, $10 dozen; and cabbage rolls, four for $15, or $40 per dozen.
