Corpus Christi celebration to feature sawdust carpets

Guardian Angels Parish, 343 W. Ninth Ave., Tarentum, invites the public to visit the church Sunday to view the colored sawdust carpets traditionally made on the church grounds by parishioners, friends and community members in celebration of the feast of Corpus Christi.

Designing of the carpets begins at 8 a.m. and will be ready for viewing at 4 p.m. A service with procession with the Blessed Sacrament and fellowship in the social hall will follow. For more information, call the parish office at 724-226-4900.

Summer programs on tap at Peoples Library

Peoples Library’s summer learning program, “Oceans of Possibilities,“ will continue through Aug. 6 at the New Kensington and Lower Burrell libraries.

There will be virtual and in-person activities including storytimes, STEM activities, arts and crafts programs and game times.
