Free meals available to children in NK-Arnold School District
The Nutrition Group and New Kensington-Arnold School District will offer free dine-in summer meals to children 18 and younger.
Meals will be available Mondays through Thursdays through June 30. Locations and times are:
• Valley High School: breakfast 8:30 to 9 a.m.; lunch 11:30 a.m. to noon.
• Roy A. Hunt Elementary School: breakfast, 9 to 9:30 a.m.; lunch, noon to 12:30 p.m.
No reservations are required.
Children’s science program offered at Peoples Library
Peoples Library will host a free hands-on science program “GSK Science In the Summer: Be a Physicist” July 24 to 27 at the New Kensington library, 880 Barnes St.
The program will focus on creating memorable, engaging science experiences rather than acquiring new science knowledge. Children in kindergarten through second grade will meet from 10 to 11 a.m. and third through fifth grade will meet from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Reservations and commitment to attend all four days are required. For reservations, call 724-339-1021, ext. 10. The program is offered in partnership with GSK, the Franklin Institute and Carnegie Science Center.
Free lunch offered Wednesday at Allegheny Valley Church of God
Allegheny Valley Church of God, 216 Catalpa St., New Kensington, will serve free grab-and-go lunches at noon Wednesday.
