Free produce distribution planned Saturday in Natrona

Building Block of Natrona will host its free Veggies for All and Cosmetics Closet outreach for residents in need at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Knights of Columbus Hall, 28 Garfield St., Natrona, Harrison.

Patrons are asked to arrive at 1 p.m. because supplies run out quickly. Free produce and personal care and hygiene products will be distributed.

Extra hygiene steps will be taken. Income verification is not required, and everyone is welcome. Please wear a face mask.


Toy and clothing distribution scheduled at Word of Faith Church

A free clothing and toy distribution will be from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at Word of Faith Christian Fellowship, 42 Chestnut St., Natrona, Harrison.

Buffalo Township

Friday and Saturday: A rummage and bake sale will be from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Buffalo Presbyterian Church, 678 Sarver Road.  

Fawn 

Wednesday: Fawn Supervisors will conduct a public hearing at 5:30 p.m. and the regular meeting afterward at the municipal building, 3054 Howes Run Road. Face masks are required, and social distancing will be observed. Comments should be sent to the municipal building or emailed to fawntwp@comcast.net by Friday.

Harrison

The book drop at Community Library of Allegheny Valley is now open. Curbside service will begin Monday.

Lower Burrell

New Kensington

Saturday: Animal Protectors of Allegheny Valley will have a yard sale from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the center, 750 Church St. Rain or shine.

Saturday and Monday: The Community Clothes Closet, 1129 Kenneth Ave., New Kensington, is open from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays and 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Mondays. Face masks are required, and a maximum of 25 people can be in the store at one time. Donations will now be accepted.

Oakmont

Thursday: Parks Township Sportman’s Club will resume their monthly meetings at 7:30 p.m. at the club. New members welcome.

Menu: half slab rib meal, 4-bone rib meal, leg/thigh meal, half chicken meal, barbeque slab, hot sausage sandwich and desserts. Sept. 19: The annual Pink Day festival is canceled.

Leechburg High School Class of 1953 Reunion planned in June is canceled.

Leechburg High School Class of 1960 Reunion planned for August is postponed until Aug. 7, 2021.

Oakmont

Sept. 12 and 13: The Saxonburg Festival of the Arts is canceled.

The weekly Mingle on Main events are canceled. Refunds will be sent to vendors who signed up.

Springdale

The annual Springdale Jubilee, parade and fireworks are canceled.

Springdale High School Alumni Association meetings are suspended until further notice. The Monte Carlo night planned for April 25 has been rescheduled to Oct. 3.

Sept. 12: Springdale Volunteer Fire Department has rescheduled the May Cash Bash to be Sept. 12. Current tickets will be honored in September and the Progressive 50/50 will be drawn. Please hold on to your tickets. The fire department thanks you for your understanding and support and urges everyone to stay safe.

Sept. 13: The craft and vendor fair is canceled.

Tarentum

July 3: The Summit Hose Independence Day fireworks are canceled.

West Deer

West Deer Farmers Market is canceled this year.

July 31 and Aug. 1: West Deer Community Days are canceled.

Aug. 28: The West Deer Police Benefit Golf Scramble that was to be May 1 is rescheduled to be Aug. 28 at Pittsburgh North Golf Course, Richland Township. Cost: $85 per golfer. Registration form: click here.
