HOPE Center shares wish list

The Alle-Kiski Area HOPE Center, Tarentum, needs items for the clients that it serves.

Items needed include diapers, wipes, children’s underwear, socks, slippers and flip flops. Gift cards in $10 increments from Sheetz, GetGo, Giant Eagle, Community Market and Walmart are also welcome.

Donations can be dropped off from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays at the HOPE Center administration building, 500 E. Eighth Ave., Tarentum. Call 724-224-1100 when you arrive.


Adult student information night planned at Lenape Technical School

Lenape Technical School will have a free adult student information night from 5 to 6 p.m. June 28 at the school, 2215 Chaplin St., Manor Township.

There will be tours and an opportunity to speak with instructors and funding providers. Featured programs will include HVACR Fast Track, Welding Fast Track, commercial drivers training, clinical medical assistant, pharmacy technician and phlebotomy technician.

Summer concert series to feature The Shiners

The free Pittsburgh Brewing Co. Thunder Summer Music Series will feature The Shiners Thursday at the pavilion at the Syria Shrine Center, 1877 Shriners Way, Harmar.

Concerts start at 7 p.m., rain or shine. Gates open at 6 p.m. There is free parking and food and beverages will be sold. No tailgating or outside food or drinks are permitted.

Tuesday: St. Vladimir Church, 1610 Kenneth Ave., will sponsor a bingo night. Doors open at 6 p.m. There is a $1,000 jackpot game with a $500 consolation prize. Pierogi, snacks, drinks, daubers and extra packages will be sold. Admission: $25.

Buffalo Township 

Thursday : Zion United Methodist Church will host a community blood drive from 1 to 7 p.m. in the church Family Life Center, 438 Bear Creek Road. Appointments recommended. Bring ID. Jefferson 

Thursday : Concordia Haven Retirement Apartments will have an event Sip, Savor and Compare at 2 p.m. in the Haven I dining room, 112 Marwood Road, entrance 2A. There will be a seminar, “Compare Concordia: Affordable, Worry-free Living,: tours, wine from Saxonburg Heritage Wine Cellars and appetizers. Walk-ins are welcome, but reservations are preferred.
