Comedy show to celebrate Casino Theater anniversary

The Casino Theater in Vandergrift will celebrate its 125th anniversary with a comedy show featuring Jimmy Krenn and rock comic Mark Eddie at 7:30 p.m. June 21 at the theater.

KDKA radio’s Larry Richert will be the master of ceremonies. A patio party for ticket holders will begin at 6 p.m. on the theater’s new west portico. For reservations and ticket information, visit casinotheater.org.

Friday, Saturday and Sunday: Kiski Area Band will sponsor a rummage sale from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the high school gymnasium, 240 Hyde Park Road. Baked goods, snacks and lemonade will be sold.

Friday: The Outdoor Discovery Center at Crooked Creek will sponsor a free celebration of National Pollinator Week from 9 a.m. to noon at the center, 142 Kerr Road. There will be tours of the Master Gardener pollinator garden, activities for children, and opportunities to meet beekeepers and learn about native plants, bees, moths, bees, hummingbirds and bats. Today: The Blessing Closet at Freeport United Methodist Church, 211 Fourth St., will be open from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. All items are free, but donations will be accepted. Items available include clothing of all sizes, bedding and window items. Donations of clothing, shoes and boots welcome; must be laundered and free from smoke and pet hair. Wheelchair accessible. June 26: Join Allegheny County Park Rangers for a day of habitat restoration at Deer Lakes Park. Meet at 5:30 p.m. at the Veterans I shelter. Volunteers will use hand tools to remove invasive species and may plant native species. Expect to participate in physical activity. No experience is necessary.
