Concert to raise funds for Arnold’s Roosevelt Park

New Ken/Arnold Social in the Park will sponsor the annual Rockin’ Roosevelt benefit concert from noon to 8 p.m. Sunday at Roosevelt Park in Arnold. Gates open at 11:30 a.m.

Bands scheduled to appear include Heidi and the Hellcats, Risen to Save, The Epics, Miss Freddye’s Blues Band, Big House Pete, Elias Khouri, Mad Alice, Mojo, The Gruuve Band, Rumble 13 and River City Blues.

There will be food vendors and a 50/50 raffle.

Admission is $5 per person. Rain or shine. Bring a lawn chair or blanket. Gates will be open on Rankin and Drey streets. All proceeds will benefit the fund to keep Roosevelt Park open during the summer. Visit New Ken Arnold Social in the Park on Facebook for band set times.


Meals On Wheels volunteers needed

Celebrating its 50th anniversary this year, Highlands Meals On Wheels is seeking volunteers to deliver food on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays to local residents.

Butler County

Thursday: The National Alliance on Mental Illness of Butler County will offer a free online support group at 7 p.m. at Zoom.us for families and friends of those living with a mental illness. East Vandergrift 

June 20: Our Lady, Queen of Peace Parish is selling raffle tickets for whole pig raffle. The winner will receive a whole pig, a 20-cubic foot freezer, a $200 gift card to Locust Grove Country Shop, a $200 gift card to Rukas Beverage and a $100 gift card to the Vandergrift Fox’s Pizza Den. Today: Allegheny Valley Association of Churches Food Bank will be open to anyone in need from 1:30 to 5 p.m. at 1913 Freeport Road, Natrona Heights. Pull into the center parking lot and food will be placed into your vehicle. Those who are not yet registered should come from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Friday: Natrona Heights Veterans of Foreign Wars will have bingo at 7 p.m. at the post, 894 Veterans Lane. Doors open at 6 p.m., and there will be specials, a 50/50 raffle and final game jackpot.

June 11 : St. Joseph High School is conducting an online basket raffle as part of the annual Spartan Scramble golf outing.
