Christopher’s Light charity accepting donations
Children’s charity Christopher’s Light is collecting donations of back to school supplies, gently used clothing and personal care items from 10 a.m. to noon Mondays and Thursdays at its location at 202 Point St., Saltsburg.
Christopher’s Light serves children in need who live in Armstrong, Westmoreland and Indiana counties. Items needed include backpacks, notebooks, pens, pencils, markers, crayons, facial tissues, toothbrushes, shampoo, deodorant, sunscreen and toothpaste. For alternate drop off sites, text 724-980-2840.
Anyone who can donate their time to deliver items to families in need or sort and prepare items at the Saltsburg building to should send a message at the group’s Facebook page. Facebook.com/christopherslightnonprofit/
To send a monetary donation, send your check made out to Christopher’s Light to P.O. Box 94, Apollo PA 15613.

Peoples Library adds additional day for no-contact pickup
Peoples Library now offers an additional day for no-contact pickup of library materials.
Pickups will be by appointment only. To make an appointment, call the New Kensington location from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Mondays, and Wednesdays or noon to 6 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays at 724-339-1021.
For an appointment at the Lower Burrell location, call 724-339-1565 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays or noon to 6 p.m. Wednesdays and Fridays.
Saxonburg Road closed in Fawn
Saxonburg Road in Fawn is closed in both directions between Route 908 in Fawn and Freeport Road in Natrona Heights, Harrison, due to a roadway failure.
Geotechnical crews will investigate the roadway issue and determine a repair. Local traffic will be permitted.

Today: Fawn Supervisors will conduct a public hearing at 5:30 p.m. and the regular meeting afterward at the municipal building, 3054 Howes Run Road. Face masks are required, and social distancing will be observed.
Freeport

Alle-Kiski Music Day Camp planned for July 26-31 is canceled due to the covid-19 pandemic. Organizers would like to thank those made donations this year.
