Cancer awareness day planned in Harrison
A free community day to raise cancer awareness, “Together We Can Make a Difference,” will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Lloyd D. Hayden Center, 480 Park Ave., Harrison.
There will be games, a basket auction, food, a DJ, basketball tournament, caricatures, a 50-50 and more. Money raised will be donated to UPMC Children’s Hospital. The event is sponsored by the Sheldon Park Advisory Board and the Hayden Center. For details, call Sydney Hayden at 724-826-1327.
Rescheduled Tarentum Summer Concert to feature Byrl Johnson
The Tarentum Summer Concert series will feature at performance by Byrl Johnson at 7 p.m. Thursday in the Carl J. Magnetta Jr. Memorial Amphitheater in Riverview Memorial Park.
The concert was rescheduled from June 19. The Snack Shack opens at 6 p.m. The concerts are sponsored by Tarentum Recreation Board.
