Tarentum concert to feature Murphy’s Music Center Band

Tarentum Summer Concert Series will feature the Murphy’s Music Center Band with Almost Sinatra at 7 p.m. Thursday in the Carl J. Magnetta Jr. Memorial Amphitheater in Riverview Memorial Park.

The Snack Shack opens at 6 p.m. The concerts are sponsored by Tarentum Recreation Board.


Saxonburg carnival runs Tuesday through Saturday

Saxonburg Firemen’s Carnival will be Tuesday through Saturday at the fireman’s grounds.

Gates open at 6 p.m. nightly. There are carnival rides, food and games. There is no admission fee and ride-all-day tickets are $20 per rider. A pet parade will be Tuesday and the fireman’s parade will be Thursday. For more information, visit svfc.com.


Summer concert series to feature Miss Freddye’s Blues Band

The free Pittsburgh Brewing Co. Thunder Summer Music Series will feature Miss Freddye’s Blues Band at 7 p.m. Thursday at the pavilion at the Syria Shrine Center, 1877 Shriners Way, Harmar.

Gates open at 6 p.m., rain or shine. There is free parking, and food and beverages will be sold. No tailgating or outside food or drinks are permitted.

Allegheny Township

July 30: Markle Volunteer Fire Department is accepting space reservations for an outdoor flea market in the firehall parking lot, 470 Joyce St. Cost: $15 for a 15 x 25-foot space. Reservations required by Friday. Reservations: 724-236-0665.

Arnold

Tuesday: St. Vladimir Church, 1610 Kenneth Ave., will sponsor a bingo night. Doors open at 6 p.m. There is a $1,000 jackpot game with a $500 consolation prize. Pierogi, snacks, drinks, daubers and extra packages will be sold. Admission: $25.

Buffalo Township

Tuesday: Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank will host a drive-through food distribution for anyone in need from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Tuesday at Lernerville Speedway, 313 N. Pike Road. No reservations required. Guests should remain in their vehicles and open their door or trunk and will be served on a first come, first served basis.

Wednesday: Herbal Thymes Club invites the public to its free monthly program at 7 p.m. at Zion United Methodist Church, 438 Bear Creek Road. Joe and Carol Rost, owners of Asgard Acres Alpaca Farm, will be the speakers. Details: herbalthymesclub.org.

East Vandergrift 

July 3 and 4: Our Lady, Queen of Peace Parish is selling tickets for a Firecracker Cash lottery raffle. Cost: $10, includes two three-digit numbers. The winning number will be the 7 p.m. Daily Pick-3 number on July 3 and 4. Winners receive $1,000, a $100 gift card to Lackey’s Dairy Queen, North Apollo, and a $100 gift card to Allusion Brewery, Vandergrift. Thursday: An underwater photography presentation for teens and adults will be offered at 6 p.m. at Community Library of Allegheny Valley, 1522 Broadview Blvd. Professional scuba instructor, photographer and fossil diver Jennifer Dillaman will be the speaker. Lower Burrell  

Oct. 22: New Kensington Moose is accepting table reservations for a fall craft and vendor show planned for 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the lodge, 499 Reimer St. Spaces limited to one representative from each company on a first come, first served basis. July 8: Vendor and food truck vendor applications are being accepted for Springdale Community Day set for 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Lincoln Avenue. There will be a car show, kids games and scavenger hunt. Volunteers are also needed. Details: 724-274-6269.
