Rockin’ Roosevelt concert to raise funds for Arnold park
New Ken/Arnold Social in the Park will sponsor the annual Rockin’ Roosevelt benefit concert from noon to 8 p.m. Sunday at Roosevelt Park in Arnold. Gates open at 11:30 a.m.
Bands scheduled to appear include Heidi and the Hellcats, Risen to Save, Miss Freddye’s Blues Band, Big House Pete, Elias Khouri, We’re Almost Home, TKO, Loose Change Trio, the Shiners, Curtis & the Shakerz and Chip & the Charge-Ups.
There will be food vendors and a 50/50 raffle. Admission is $5 per person. Rain or shine. Bring a lawn chair or blanket. Gates will be open on Rankin and Drey streets. Cheswick Strawberry festival planned Sunday
The Cheswick Strawberry Festival will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Sunday in on Spruce Street near the firehall.
Food available will include strawberry desserts, hot dogs by the Cheswick Volunteer Fire Department and several food trucks. Performances will be by oldies band America Pie and magician Dan Kuniak and there will be vendors, a basket raffle, face painting, a children’s barrel train, a petting zoo and 50/50. Bring a lawn chair. Rain or shine.
The event is sponsored by Cheswick Borough Recreation Board.
Pittsburgh Opera to open concert series at Hartwood Acres
The Pittsburgh Opera will kick off the free 2022 Summer Concert series Sunday at Hartwood Acres Park Amphitheater, 4070 Middle Road, Hampton.
Black Dog Winery and Hop Farm Brewing trucks will be on site beginning at 6 p.m. and performances will begin at 7:30 p.m.
Bring a chair. Popup tents and umbrellas are permitted but must be taken down before the performance begins. Dogs are permitted but must be on a leash at all times and be up to date on all vaccinations and licensing. Owners must clean up after their dogs.
