Fireworks display planned Monday in Tarentum
The annual Summit Hose Company Independence Day fireworks display will be at 10 p.m. Monday in Tarentum.
There will be no kitchen or onsite event inside Dreshar Stadium this year.
It’s not too late to donate to the fireworks fund. Send your check made out to Summit Hose Company with the word “donation” in the memo line to Summit Hose Company, Fireworks Chairman, 321 W. Seventh Ave., Tarentum PA 15084.
Cheswick to host Independence Day celebration on Sunday
An Independence Day celebration will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the MacLean Park playground in Cheswick.
A Stars and Stripes parade will begin at 6:30 p.m. Residents are encouraged to decorate their bicycles, wagons and strollers and parade around the block. Line-up will be at 6 p.m. The parade route will be about a quarter of a mile long and begin and end at the park. There will be food, children’s crafts, a balloon artist and a DJ. Allegheny Valley Regional Police Department will have a bicycle rodeo.
The event is sponsored by the borough recreation board.
Hartwood Acres to host Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra
The Allegheny County Summer Concert Series at Hartwood Acres Park Amphitheater, Indiana Township, will feature a performance by the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra at 8:15 p.m. Sunday.
Food trucks will open at 6 p.m. Rain or shine. A $20 per vehicle fee will benefit the Allegheny County Department of Human Services.
