Free children’s summer food programs to open
The Kids Meal Network summer food program will host free grab and go meal distributions at several locations.
Locations and dates include:
• BridgePoint Church, 400 E. Ninth Ave., Tarentum, 10 a.m. to noon Wednesdays June 9 to July 28
• Central Presbyterian Church, 305 Allegheny St., Tarentum, 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. weekdays June 7 to Aug. 6.
• Grace United Methodist Church, 1333 Freeport Road, Natrona Heights, Harrison, 10 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays June 8 to Aug. 5
• Natrona Community Park, 12-20 River Road, Natrona, Harrison, 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. weekdays June 7 to July 30.
One person per family is permitted to pick up the meals. Social distancing will be observed. Meals are free to all children.
Summer concert series to begin at Hartwood Acres
The Allegheny County Summer Concert Series at Hartwood Acres Park Amphitheater, Indiana Township, will open the season with a free performance of reggae music by Truth and Rites at 7:30 p.m. Sunday.
Food trucks will open at 6 p.m. Rain or shine.
Free concert planned at Concordia Lutheran Ministries
Concordia Haven II at Concordia Lutheran Ministries will host a free outdoor concert featuring the East Winds Symphonic Band at 4 p.m. Sunday on the Haven II patio, entrance 5, 148 Marwood Road, Jefferson Township.
Registration is encouraged. To register, call Peggy at 724-352-5378 or email PTrettel@concordialm.org. In case of inclement weather, the concert will be canceled.

Saturday: Knead Community Café will host an Herbal Affair Market from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the café, 1011 Barnes St. Vendors will sell handcrafted and natural-based herbal soaps, lotions, balms, teas and condiments, and flowers and plants. The café will be open for breakfast from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. Proceeds will support the café’s mission to feed all regardless of means.
Saturday: The Community Clothes Closet, 1129 Kenneth Ave., is open from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays and Mondays and 6 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesdays. The closet offers clothing for all members of the family, uniforms for students at Mary Queen of Apostles School, shoes, purses, household items, linens and blankets.
