MyHeritage research database available at Harrison library
The local history department at Community Library of Allegheny Valley, 1522 Broadview Blvd., Harrison, offers the use of the MyHeritage Research Database that includes billions of historical documents for nearly 50 countries, historical photographs, public records, indexes and more.

The Shiners band to play Tarentum Park
Tarentum Summer Concert Series will feature the Shiners at 7 p.m. Thursday in the Carl J. Magnetta Jr. Memorial Amphitheater in Riverview Memorial Park.
The Snack Shack opens at 6 p.m. The concerts are sponsored by Tarentum Recreation Board.
Animal Protectors seeking donations
Animal Protectors of Allegheny Valley is accepting donations of pet food and supplies for its community pantry.
Donations can be dropped off from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. any day at the rear entrance of the shelter, 730 Church St., New Kensington.

June 23: New Kensington Eagles Auxiliary will host a super bingo at 2 p.m. at St. Vladimir Ukrainian Catholic Church social hall, 1601 Kenneth Ave. Doors open at noon. There will be 14 regular games that pay $100; five specials, and a must-go $1,000 jackpot game; silent auction, small games of chance and a 50-50. Snacks, pop and water will be sold. Friday : The Audubon Society of Western Pennsylvania will sponsor a free community walk Freeport Community Park. The event will begin at 9 a.m. and will last one hour, rain or shine. Meet in the parking lot of Laube Hall. A naturalist will lead the group and will discuss birds, beneficial insects, native plants and wildlife. Binoculars will be available. Reservations required.
