LB church to celebrate 175th birthday
Bethesda Evangelical Lutheran Church in Lower Burrell will mark its 175th anniversary with a community celebration from noon to 6 p.m. Saturday at the church, 3084 Leechburg Road.
There will be a bounce house, volleyball, cornhole, a prayer table, children’s crafts and free hot dogs and snacks. Musical entertainment will include Marino & McClain at 12:30 p.m., Jeff Conner & Mike Huston at 2 p.m. and James Diller at 4 p.m.
Community day set Saturday in Springdale
Springdale Community Day will be from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday in the 800 block of Lincoln Avenue in front of Veterans Field.
Sponsored by Springdale Team of Active Residents (STAR), there will be a car show, the UPMC Health Screening Bus, vendors, crafters and food trucks. Donations will be accepted for the local food bank.
