Motorcycle ride to raise funds for cancer patients
Change for Cancer and the Protectors of Phoenix will host a ride fundraiser June 27 beginning at Woodpeckers Pub and Grub, 3500 Seventh St. Road, Upper Burrell.
Registration begins at 10:30 a.m. and kickstands up will be at noon. The ride route will be to Coolwater Saloon, the Bonfire, Extra Innings and ending at Mogie’s Pub, where there will be a basket auction, 50/50 raffles and food.
Cost is $20 for a rider and $10 per passenger, and includes an event t-shirt. Registration deadline is Friday.

Free concert planned Friday in Freeport Riverside Park
Freeport Renaissance Association will sponsor a free concert from 7 to 10 p.m. Friday in Riverside Park.
The band Dos Acoustics will be featured. Bring a blanket or lawn chair to sit on.
Salvation Army free lunch distribution planned Thursday
The Allegheny Valley Salvation Army and Community Center in Brackenridge offers free grab and go lunches from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursdays in parking lot at the center, 917 Brackenridge Ave.
Vandergrift Firemen’s Carnival opens tonight
The annual Firemen’s Carnival, sponsored by Vandergrift Volunteer Fire Department No. 1, will be open from 6 to 10 p.m. tonight through Saturday in Kennedy Park, weather permitting.
There will be rides, games and food.
Concerts in the park return to Tarentum
Tarentum Summer Concert Series opens at 7 p.m. Thursday in the Carl J. Magnetta Jr. Memorial Amphitheater in Riverview Memorial Park with the band American Pie.
The Snack Shack opens at 6 p.m. The concerts are sponsored by Tarentum Recreation Board.
