Donations sought for telescope at VA Hospital

The White Oak Knights of Columbus along with the Amateur Astronomers Association of Pittsburgh is raising funds to purchase and install a telescope and camera for the veterans hospitalized at the VA Hospital in Aspinwall.

The camera will be used to allow hospitalized veterans to observe the stars from inside the hospital on computers. Funds will also be used to bus veterans to local Amateur Astronomers star parties.

Free webinar about hospice care offered

Community Library of Allegheny Valley and Monarch Hospice will sponsor a free online webinar about hospice benefits at 10 a.m. June 19 on Zoom.us.

Topics will include the basics of hospice care, who is eligible and what type of illness makes a person eligible for hospice care. A question-and-answer session will be afterward.
