Summer lunch program offered in Leechburg
Leechburg Area School District will host a free summer lunch program for any child 18 and younger from 11 a.m. to noon weekdays June 14 through Aug. 9 in the school cafeteria.
Adults are welcome to purchase a meal at the current adult rate. Meals are sponsored by Metz Culinary Management and the school district.
Annual night race scheduled July 15 in Apollo
Roaring Run Watershed Association will sponsor its annual 5K night race/walk, “Race to the Moon,” at 9 p.m. July 15 at the trail along the Kiski River.
Parking will be at 310 Clifford Ave., Apollo, and everyone will be bussed to the starting line. A secure baggage claim will be available at the trail. Check-in will begin at 5:30 p.m. Cost is $25 in advance and $30 on race day; includes a race day T-shirt for those who register by June 18.

River City Brass Band to play concert at Hartwood Acres
The Allegheny County Summer Concert Series at Hartwood Acres Park Amphitheater, Indiana Township, will feature a free performance of by the River City Brass Band at 7:30 p.m. Sunday.
Food trucks will open at 6 p.m. Rain or shine. A $20 per vehicle fee will benefit the Allegheny County Department of Human Services.

Sunday: The Kiski Valley Community Band will play a concert at 3 p.m. at First Lutheran Church, 214 N. Pennsylvania Ave. Donations will be accepted.
East Vandergrift
Today: East Vandergrift Community Foundation will sponsor a Food Truck Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. on Chambers Street in the borough. There will be food vendors, beer, music, a raffle and an opportunity to socialize.
Freeport
Saturday: Freeport Kiwanis will sponsor a pancake breakfast from 8 to 11 a.m. at Freeport Event Center, 325 Fourth St., entrance 2. Menu: pancakes, bacon and sausage. Cost: $8; younger than 5, $4. Dine in or takeout. Proceeds will support the Freeport Community Park playground project.
Sunday: Freeport Event Center, 325 Fourth St., will host a Second Sunday Social from noon to 5 p.m. for all ages at the center. There will be music, activities, food and beverages. Bring your instrument and join in the music.
Harrison
Friday: Natrona Heights Veterans of Foreign Wars will have bingo at 7 p.m. at the post, 894 Veterans Lane. Doors open at 6 p.m., and there will be specials, a 50/50 raffle and final game jackpot.
Saturday: The Diaper Pantry at Christ Our Hope Anglican Church, Harrison, will distribute diapers from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the church, 926 Painter Ave., and at Sheldon Park, both in Natrona Heights. Recipients must drive up and remain in their vehicles. First-time recipients must provide their own identification, the child’s birth certificate and a current WIC or SNAP card.
Thursday: Community Library of Allegheny Valley will offer a seminar about email etiquette at 6 p.m. at the library, 1522 Broadview Blvd. Learn to compose professional emails, communicate clearly and effectively and avoid common grammar and spelling errors. McKean St. The Armstrong County Herb Group and Garden Club will present, “The Meaning of Flowers,” at 1 p.m. Volunteer Katie Wolfe will discuss the history of gowns at 1:30 p.m. and the museum will be open until 3 p.m. Free parking is available on Vine and North McKean streets and behind the museum via the North Grant Avenue entrance.

Sunday: The QoA Bassoon Quartet will be in concert at 3 p.m. at First Evangelical Lutheran Church, 358 Main St. A $10 admission fee will benefit the church’s carillon restoration project.
