Tickets available for spaghetti dinner in honor of Brackenridge chief

Pioneer Hose Fire Department will host a spaghetti dinner in honor of fallen Brackenridge police Chief Justin McIntire from noon to 6 p.m. March 11 at the firehall, 124 Morgan St.

Cost is $10; 12 and younger, $5. There will be a basket raffle and 50-50 and memorial T-shirts, bracelets and window decals will be sold.

Tickets are available at Highland Tire in Tarentum and Harrison; Allegheny Beverage in Harrison; Vibo’s Bakery, Brackenridge Beverage and Fueland, all in Brackenridge; Mazziotti’s Bakery in Lower Burrell and Asay’s News Stand in Tarentum. Proceeds will be donated to McIntire’s family.

American Cancer Society seeks volunteers

The American Cancer Society is looking for volunteers to drive cancer patients to treatment appointments.

Access to timely, high-quality treatment can often be a cancer patient’s largest roadblock to survival. The society’s Road to Recovery program fills the gap when friends and family are unable to help out.
