March for Parks fundraiser planned March 26

The 20th annual Westmoreland County March for Parks event will be March 26 at seven locations in the county, including Northmoreland Park in Allegheny Township, the Westmoreland Heritage Trail in Murrysville and Historic Hanna’s Town.

Check in will be from 9 a.m. to noon. Walkers will turn in donations and contributions and those who turn in at least $30 will earn an event t-shirt or doggie bandana and there will be raffles and family-friendly activities and games.

Museum to display women’s vintage clothing

The Alle-Kiski Valley Historical Society will sponsor a program, “What Women Wore: An Unveiling of Vintage Women’s Clothing,” at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Heritage Museum, 224 E Seventh Ave., Tarentum.

Cemetery cleanup planned March 15

Prospect Cemetery will remove all flowers and decorations beginning March 15.

Anything you wish to keep should be removed prior to this date.


Cinderella’s Closet event postponed

The Cinderella’s Closet at North Apollo Church of God scheduled for Saturday is postponed due to the expected snow storm and will be from 9 a.m. to noon March 19 at the church, 507 N. 20th St.

Organizations

Burtner House Restoration Society is accepting new members. Meetings are at 6:30 p.m. the second Thursday of each month. Dues are $10 per person or $15 for a family and donations are always welcome.
