Riverview HS to present Mel Brooks’ ‘Young Frankenstein’

The drama department of Riverview High School will present the musical, “Young Frankenstein,” at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday and 2 p.m. Saturday and March 19 in the Tenth Street School Auditorium, Oakmont.

Drive-through food distribution set Tuesday at Pittsburgh Mills

Allegheny Valley Association of Churches and the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank will host a drive-thru food distribution for anyone in need from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Tuesday in parking lot of the former JC Penney store at the Galleria at Pittsburgh Mills, Frazer.

Reservations are not required. Guests should remain in their vehicles and open their door or trunk and will be served on a first come, first served basis. Guests will complete a short registration process onsite. Each household will need to complete an annual self-declaration of need form to receive food.

Friday: St. Vladimir Church, 1610 Kenneth Ave., is accepting orders for its pierogi sale. Varieties: potato or sauerkraut. Pickup: 12:30 to 4 p.m. Fridays in the church social hall. Cost: $12 per dozen. Orders: 724-339-9257, 8 to 10 a.m. Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.

Saturday : The New Kensington Camera Club and Focus on the Arts Gallery will offer a free workshop, “Basics of Photo Editing Using Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop,” from 1 to 4 p.m. in suite 208 at Pittsburgh Mills Mall. Tuesday: Concordia of Cabot will offer a free monthly caregiver support group at 2 p.m. the second Tuesday of each month in the Lund Care Center, 134 Marwood Road, entrance 4. Details: 724-352-1571, ext. 8271.

Kiski Township

March 26: A gun bash will begin at noon at Kiski Township Volunteer Firehall, 1037 Route 56. Doors open at 11 a.m. Cost: $25, includes two numbers for the drawing, food and drink. There will small games of chance and a 50-50. Tickets: Christine, 724-541-6345.

Lyndora

Friday, Saturday and Sunday: GFWC Intermediate League of Butler will host its annual antiques show and sale at the Tanglewood Center, 10 Austin Ave. An opening night gala will be from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Friday and weekend hours will be 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday. Admission: Friday, $12; Saturday and Sunday, $10. Tickets: Don Paul Jewelers, 148 N. Main St. Butler, or at the door. Proceeds will benefit community projects.

New Kensington 

Tuesday and Saturday: The Community Clothes Closet, 1129 Kenneth Ave., will be open from noon to 2 p.m. Tuesday and 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday. Items available include clothing for all members of the family, shoes and linens. First-time customers receive 15 free items. Winter clothing donations are welcome during business hours.

Oakmont

Tuesdays: Taking Pounds Off Sensibly (TOPS) meets at 6 p.m. at Oakmont United Methodist Church, 419 Maryland Ave. Monthly dues: $5; first meeting is free. Details: vrevilla@pointpark.edu.

Springdale  

Wednesday : Springdale Free Public Library will host an evening story time for all ages with author James Turner at 6 p.m. at the library, 331 School St. Turner will discuss his book, “How the Cat Got Its Sound.” Reservations required. Reservations: 724-274-9729.

Vandergrift 

Tuesday: The YoYos Needle Arts group at Vandergrift Public Library will meet from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the library reading room, 128C Washington Ave. No reservations required; just stop in. All skill levels welcome; however, this is not an instructional program. Meetings are the second Tuesday of each month. Details: 724-568-2212.

March 31: Vandergrift Public Library is raffling a quilt made and donated by library patron Jane Strohm to benefit the library. Cost: $1 each; 5 for 10; and $10 for 25 tickets.
