Knead Community Café accepting donations
Knead Community Café, New Kensington, is accepting donations to help the daily operation of the café, 1011 Barnes St.
Items on the café’s wish list include white premium napkins, Clorox wipes, disposable latex or nitrile gloves size large or extra-large, , 6x6-inch or 9x9-inch single compartment Styrofoam hinged takeout containers, foil sheet wraps, instant iced tea mix with lemon and sugar, Tide or Gain laundry powdered detergent and Sam’s Club gift cards.
Donations are accepted during business hours 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesdays through Fridays and 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays.
Hydrant flushing to begin in New Kensington
New Kensington Water Authority will begin to flush fire hydrants from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday and continue through the summer months.
Customers may experience low pressure and should test water before doing laundry or drawing large quantities of water because it may be discolored. Water color usually clears within a few hours.
