St. Patrick’s Day parade to step off in Lower Burrell

The Lower Burrell St. Patrick’s Day parade will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday on Leechburg Road.

The procession will begin at Stewart School and proceed to Hillcrest Shopping Center. Everyone along the route is encouraged to wear green.


Interfaith community choir sets organization session

Grace United Methodist Church, 1333 Freeport Road, Harrison, will host an informational meeting Saturday for adults who would like to be a member of an interfaith community choir.

Today: The Allegheny Valley Salvation Army and Community Center will distribute free grab-and-go lunches from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the center parking lot, 917 Brackenridge Ave. Free grocery items from Walmart and Aldi will be available. Everyone is welcome.

Friday: Allegheny Valley Hospital Auxiliary is sponsoring a raffle for a Hilton Head, S.C., vacation. The prize includes seven nights in a condo either the week of June 1 to 8, 2025 or Aug. 10 to 17, 2025 at Shelter Cove Harbor in Hilton Head. Meals and transportation not included. Tickets: 10 for $5, or 20 for $10, cash and checks accepted. Tickets will be sold from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. today and Friday in the hospital main lobby, 1301 Carlisle St. The winner will be drawn at 3:30 p.m. Friday.
