Freeport Food Bank seeking help

Freeport Area Food Bank is seeking volunteers to help with food distribution

The truck comes with food at about 10 a.m. the last Tuesday of each month to be unloaded. Distribution is from 4 to 5:30 p.m. the first Tuesday of each month.

Brackenridge

Monday: Generations House of Worship, 1160 Parkside Drive, will host a Nar-Anon meeting at 7:30 p.m. at the church. Nar-Anon is a support group for anyone whose life has been affected by someone else’s addiction. Details: Laurie, 724-895-3385

Monday: Community Library of Allegheny Valley will offer a free open computer lab from 4 to 6 p.m. at the library, 1522 Broadview Blvd. Drop in with your device with questions about computers and software. No registration required. Details: 724-226-3491

Leechburg

Tuesday: The Leechburg Public Library is sponsoring a lottery ticket raffle based on the 7 p.m. March 17 Pick 3 Lottery number. The winner will receive a complete roll of $10 and $20 Pa. scratch-off tickets. Tickets: $5, available at Sprankle’s, the Gifted Garden, the borough building, Coco Coffeehouse and the library.

Lower Burrell

Monday: Overeaters Anonymous will meet at 7:30 p.m. at Bethel United Methodist Church, 150 Alder St. No weigh-ins, dues or fees. Everyone welcome. Details: 724-289-8044

Monday: The Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary will meet at 7:30 p.m. at the post, Wildlife Lodge Road.

New Kensington

April 18: Table reservations are being accepted from crafters and vendors for an indoor flea market set for 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Valley High School gymnasium, Stevenson Blvd. Cost: $25 for a 6-foot table. Monday: Allegheny-Kiski Health Foundation and Peoples Library will offer free blood pressure screenings from 1 to 3 p.m. at the library, 3052 Wachter St. No registration required.

Saxonburg

Sunday: The concert by Marianne Cornetti to benefit Lighthouse Foundation is rescheduled for 5 to 7 p.m. May 17 at Saxonburg Memorial Presbyterian Church, 100 W. Main St.

Springdale Township

Mondays: Se Jong Tae Kwon Do offers free tae kwon do classes at 6:30 p.m. in the social hall at Our Lady of Victory Church, 1319 Low Grade Road, Harwick. Details: 724-274-4170

Vandergrift

Monday: A Chess Club for children in kindergarten through eighth grade will meet from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Mondays through March 23 at Vandergrift Public Library, 128C Washington Ave. No experience necessary. A local chess master and volunteers will work with children and teach basic moves and strategy.

Wednesday: Spaghetti dinner at Springdale Veterans Association.

March 29: Breakfast with the Easter Bunny at Springdale Volunteer Fire Department

Tarentum

Thursday: The Merry Martyrs Luncheon at Holy Martyrs Parish

Vandergrift

Thursday: The benefit spaghetti dinner for the Terry George family at St. Gertrude Parish is postponed.
