Volunteer opportunities available with Family Hospice

Family Hospice, a part of UMPC, serves patients and families at end of life in Allegheny, Beaver, Butler, Washington and Westmoreland counties and is seeking respite and companion volunteers and pet therapy volunteers.

Visits would be once per week for one to four hours. Volunteers are required to receive tuberculosis testing and a flu vaccine, and complete paperwork and orientation.

Free lunch offered Wednesday at Allegheny Valley Church of God

Allegheny Valley Church of God, 216 Catalpa St., New Kensington, will serve free grab and go lunches at noon Wednesday.

Dollar Dinner set Wednesday in Vandergrift

The monthly Dollar Dinner at First United Methodist Church, Vandergrift, will be from 4 to 6 p.m. or until sold out Wednesday at the church, 134 Custer Ave.
