HOPE Center will no longer accept donations

The Alle-Kiski HOPE Center in Tarentum is taking precautionary actions and will not accept donations until further notice.

The medical advocacy training that was scheduled for March 24 at Allegheny Valley Hospital, Harrison, is postponed.


Donations being accepted for Grab n’ Go meals

United Presbyterian Church of New Kensington, 601 Fifth Ave., is offering Grab ‘n Go meals for students.

Breakfast bags are available from 9 to 10 a.m. and lunch from noon to 1 p.m. Ring the bell at the elevator entrance.

Donations are needed for this project, including string cheese sticks, individual drinks, juice boxes, bottles of water and flavor packets for water. Items can be dropped off until 2:30 p.m. each day at the church.

Thursday: A free confidential support group for survivors of sexual assault will meet from 10 to 11 a.m. at the HAVIN office. Leechburg

Thursday: Al-Anon, a free, confidential program for anyone whose life has been affected by someone else’s drinking, will meet at 7 p.m. in First United Methodist Church, 251 Main St.

New Kensington

March 31: St. John Orthodox Church, 150 Elmtree Road, is taking orders for a pierogi sale. Pick-up will be from 1 to 5 p.m. March 31 at the church. Varieties: sauerkraut, cottage cheese and potato and cheddar. Advance orders required by March 27. Cost: $9 per dozen. Orders: 724-226-0942 or saintjohnnewken@gmail.com

The weekday Lunch With Us program and concert featuring Risen to Save planned for Saturday at Sheep Coffeehouse

Brackenridge

Sunday: The all you can eat community breakfast at the Brackenridge American Legion

Saturday: The indoor rummage sale at Brackenridge American Legion is postponed and will be rescheduled. Anyone who has reserved a table will be receive a refund.

Fox Chapel

March 21: Maple Madness program at Beechwood Farms. Refunds will be issued for purchased tickets.

Harrison

March 16 to 27: All adult education classes at Allegheny Family Network North are canceled.

March 27: Gold Card Easter Luncheon at Highlands High School, Natrona Heights, is canceled and unable to be rescheduled.

April 4: The Harrison Township Easter egg hunt

Leechburg

Wednesday: The Genealogy Group at Leechburg Area Museum and Historical Society. Questions: Judy, 724-681-9154

Lower Burrell

March 22: Super Bingo planned at Harry’s to benefit the New Kensington-Arnold School District PTA

March 28: The craft and vendor fair planned by Open Your Heart to a Senior at the Quality Inn is canceled.

O’Hara

March 29: Pittsburgh Wine Experience at the Comfort Inn, RIDC Park

Plum

Plum Community Center is closed and all events canceled until March 30. Meals on Wheels will continue as scheduled. Those over 60 who are food insecure or rely on the daily lunch can continue to pick up Congregant Lunch provided by the county on a take-out basis only. Pick-ups will be Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Lunches must be ordered a day in advance by calling 412-795-2330.

Oakmont

Riverview Community Action Corp. is closed until April 1 for all activities except home delivered meals. Questions: 412-828-1062

Springdale

Wednesday: Spaghetti dinner at Springdale Veterans Association

March 29: Breakfast with the Easter Bunny at Springdale Volunteer Fire Department

Tarentum
