New Kensington Cleanup event seeks volunteers

The annual Clean Up New Kensington event is planned for noon to 4 p.m. April 11 in the city. Rain date is April 18.

Areas to be covered include downtown New Kensington and Parnassus. Volunteers will meet in the parklet on Fifth Avenue and Eighth Street for supplies and zone assignments. Pizza will be served from 3 to 4 p.m. at Voodoo Brewing, 956 Fifth Ave.

Volunteers should bring gloves, brooms, garbage claws and shovels. Garbage bags and water bottles will be provided. Face masks are encouraged.

Groups are welcome to register in advance by sending an email to sonwardyouth@gmail.com. The event is sponsored by Sonward, Olde Towne Overhaul and Westmoreland Community Action.


TryLife Center host free diaper distribution Saturday

A free drive-thru diaper distribution will be from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at TryLife Center, 1155 Wildlife Lodge Road, Lower Burrell.

Free Pot Love luncheon planned Saturday

Cross Roads Community Presbyterian Church free takeout monthly Pot Love Dinner will begin at noon Saturday at the church, 271 Main St., Leechburg. Is your food budget is stretched thin? A warm welcome and a hot, nutritious free meal is waiting for you.

Reservations are required by noon Friday. One dinner per family member limit. Those with reservations will be served first. For reservations, call 724-845-1901 or email church@crcpc.org. Line-up will be outside and social distancing must be observed. Everyone is welcome.


Produce, personal care items to be distributed in Harrison

Building Block of Natrona will host its free Veggies for All and Cosmetics Closet outreach for residents in need at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Knights of Columbus Hall, 28 Garfield St., Natrona, Harrison.

Patrons should not arrive before 12:45 p.m. Free produce, and personal care and hygiene products will be distributed until supplies run out.

Extra hygiene steps will be taken. Income verification is not required, and everyone is welcome. Masks are required and social distancing will be observed.


Word of Faith Christian Fellowship offers community outreach

A free clothing and toy distribution will be from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at Word of Faith Christian Fellowship, 42 Chestnut St., Natrona.

Incontinence diapers of all sizes will be available. Social distancing will be observed, and masks are required.
