Egg hunt planned today in Kiski Township
Kiski Township Fire Department will host an egg hunt for children 12 and younger at noon today at Apollo-Ridge High School, Route 56.
Children should arrive by 11:45 a.m. Rain date is March 27. Those attending should follow all CDC guidelines.
Health Foundation to give away hams, potatoes
Allegheny-Kiski Health Foundation will distribute free ham and potatoes this month.
The giveaway is limited to the first 100 individuals in need who phone the foundation to register at 724-294-3157 and provide their name, phone number and email address. Registration is limited to one ham and five-pound bag of potatoes per family per phone call. Registrants will be given instructions as to when, where and how the food will be distributed and must arrange for transportation to the distribution site.
The project is provided through the foundation’s Hunger-in-the-Valley program.
Children’s charity to reopen for donations, registrations
Christopher’s Light children’s charity, 202 Point St., Saltsburg, will reopen Tuesday to the public.
Hours will be 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesdays, 10 a.m. to noon Thursdays, and closed the last Tuesday of each month.
Registrations and donations of new and gently worn children’s clothing, toys and hygiene products will be accepted.
The group’s mission is to provide clothing, support and educational services to children in Westmoreland, Indiana and Armstrong counties.
Easter fundraiser to benefit Tri-City Soccer
Tri-City Soccer is sponsoring an Egg My Yard fundraiser. Residents of the 15068 zip code can purchase filled eggs that will be hidden in their front yard after dusk Good Friday or the Saturday before Easter.
In case of rain, eggs will be delivered in a bag on your porch from the Easter Bunny. Cost is 30 eggs for $25; and 50 for $40. Order deadline is Thursday. Orders should be emailed to tricityprcoordinator@gmail.com.
