Easter Bunny to visit East Deer on Saturday

The Easter Bunny will ride through East Deer with the township volunteer Fire Department and Recreation Board starting at 9 a.m. Saturday.

The route will be Juniors and Freeport Road, 9 a.m.; upper Marion Street, 9:20 a.m.; Fire Pro and Freeport Road, 10 a.m., Murray Hill Estates, Old Murray Hill Road and Yost Drive, 10:20 a.m.; Front Street, 11 a.m.; Bailies Run and Days Run intersection, 11:40 a.m.; W. Armstrong museum seeks Civil War items

The Armstrong County Historical Museum and Genealogical Society Inc. in Kittanning is seeking Civil War and post war Grand Army of the Republic items that belonged to Armstrong County men who served in the war to add to its collection.

Your ancestor may have served in one of the following artillery, cavalry or infantry units: 5th Artillery, 8th and 11th Pa. Reserves, 14th Cavalry, or the 62nd, 78th, 103rd, 139th or 155th Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry.

Spring raffle to benefit Animal Protectors

An online basket raffle to Animal Protectors will continue through midnight Friday.

Basket themes include dogs, cats, wine, sports, relaxation, books, gift cards, chocolates and wreaths. More baskets will be added.

Tickets are 10 for $10 or 25 for $20. Winners will be announced at 1 p.m. Saturday online on Facebook and notified by phone. Prizes must be picked up at the shelter.
