Food items needed for Leechburg weekend distribution

The Leechburg Food Bank and Leechburg School District sponsor the Providing Alternatives to Hunger “PATH” program for children in the Leechburg School District. The program provides a weekend bag of nourishing food and supplements the free or reduced lunch program children receive during the week.

Due to the nation-wide supply chain disruption, the school district has been unable to order the needed food items. Churches, organizations and residents are being asked to donate these products.

Items needed include individual 1-ounce cereal servings of Apple Cinnamon Cheerios, Cinnamon Toast Crunch and Cocoa Puffs in plastic containers and bought in bulk; 4-ounce mixed fruit cups bought in bulk; and 100 percent juice boxes, minimum 4.23 ounces, no sugar added, such as Juicy Juice, Ocean Spray or Capri Sun.

Do not deviate from the requested portion sizes or the items will not fit into the bags. Donations can be dropped off in the fellowship hall lobby at Cross Roads Community Presbyterian Church, 271 Main St., Leechburg, Call the office at 724-845-1901 to alert them of your donation. For details, call the Revs. Gary or Lisa Lyon at 724-845-1901.
